What is Self & Family Managed Care?

Self and Family Managed Care (SFMC) is a Manitoba Home Care Program option that lets you or your family receive funding directly and choose who provides your care — including a private, family-run agency like ours — instead of receiving scheduled visits from the public system.

For many families, that choice means:

• Picking your caregiver and keeping the same familiar face visit after visit
• Scheduling around your life — including evenings, weekends, and longer visits
• Companionship-focused hours — outings, shopping, appointments — not just task lists

How Friendly Caregiver fits in

We are a family-run Winnipeg home care company, and we already serve families who fund their care through Self and Family Managed Care. Our services include in-home care, personal care, respite care (up to 24 hours), overnight care, and companionship for shopping, appointments, and day outings — seven days a week, with a 3-hour minimum per visit.

We provide clear invoices for the care you receive, suitable for your SFMC record-keeping.
